Manly is a beach-side suburb of northern Sydney in New South Wales, Australia. Manly is located 17 kilometres north-east of the Sydney CBD. It is also the administrative centre of the Manly Council. It is known for its famous beaches and it is considered as the gateway to the beaches. Due to its close proximity to both the beaches and the CBD, it is popular suburb for property investors.
Manly is in a great location being very close to the beaches. There is a boardwalk on the beach containing many restaurants, cafes and shops. There are many apartments with views which can be up to three to four stories high. There is quite a variety of properties ranging from architectural masterpieces from the 1800’s to modern penthouses. It’s a 20 minute drive to the CBD and 30 minutes on a ferry to Circular Quay.
The three to four storey apartments are great as they include the famous Manly views of the beach. This would be great for property investors as the location will stay the same and the view will never disappear. Also modern apartments are popular with parking as Manly is a very busy place in the summer.
Manly’s properties include houses from the 1800’s, art deco apartments with one to two bedrooms and tall apartments which are in demand because of the view.
The beach provides people with many activities such as swimming, surfing, biking on the beach and boat tours. The boardwalk provides restaurants, cafes and ice-cream for families. The manly aquarium is great but there is also whale and dolphin watching on offer. There is also the North Head which provides a great view out to the Sydney Harbour. There are many sports in Manly such as the rugby where the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles play. There are festivals such as the Manly International Jazz Festival which is the largest community-based festival in Australia.
The local industry is dominated by Professional, Scientific and Technical Services and Financial and Insurance services with 3815 and 2358 businesses respectively.
The public transport on offer includes buses, taxis, ferries and water taxis which can all get you around Manly and into the CBD.
Sydney road and Pittwater road take you through Manly and Bluefish drive takes you into the famous national park.
Two great streets for property investment include Wood Street and Darley road. Darley road is very close to the beaches and very close to the ferries which many people use to get to work. It also near shops and cafes. Wood Street is fantastic as it is great for family living. It is quiet and is only ten minutes to the cafes and restaurants with barely any traffic.
